In 2024, it’s impossible to see a teen without a phone in his/her hand, and most likely, one of the apps on the phone is a mobile video game. This fall, when students are back to school, attending football games, and working, they might be looking for short games to play that peak their interest.
One such game is “Brawl Stars” created by the popular game company, SuperCell, which features fast-paced matches that can be played with friends or alone. As time goes on, players collect different brawlers and costumes to build their collection and face strong enemies from all regions of the world who are playing. A single match played in “Brawl Stars” lasts only a few minutes and is perfect for small breaks during a busy day.
There are obviously endless numbers of other mobile games curing short-term boredom out there. Freshman, Asher Baker, has a job with landscaping and on top of that, a side hustle with at-home stocks. Baker said, “I do have one game on my phone, Retro Bowl, I play it when I can’t play on my console.” “Retro Bowl” is a retro-themed or 80’s style video game that is mostly played on mobile phones “Retro Bowl” is based on American football when teams collide using the same realistic rules in a small fast paced, pixelated video game. Baker indicates that with a busy life, a short-paced game is the better option.
Earlier today, Aedan Magni, a senior, said, “Even ask Senora Oldham, I used to sit in her class and play Baseball 9 the whole time”. “Baseball 9” is a fast-paced game based on realistic baseball. Once again, a fast-paced game is mentioned, going back to the claim of fast-paced mobile phone video games being the most used in the fall of 2024.
The games “Brawl Stars”, “Retro Bowl”, and “Baseball 9” are very popular throughout Big Spring High School and are used by many students in and out of the high school, whether it’s off the clock at work, before or after sports practice, or just sitting at home bored. Everyone needs a way to cure the seek for amusement.
